Salman Khan Begins Grueling Ladakh Shoot for Battle of Galwan, Bonds with Soldiers on Set

From cold waters to intense altitude, the superstar embraces physical challenges while filming true-life war saga involving the 2020 Galwan Valley clash

Bollywood star Salman Khan has officially started filming his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan in Ladakh, and photos from the location in Leh have already made waves online.

In the newly surfaced pictures, Salman is seen mingling with soldiers in full uniform. In one of the more touching shots, he poses beside a soldier’s family β€” the soldier cradles a newborn as his wife and Khan stand alongside them.

Other behind-the-scenes visuals show crew members pitching tents and setting up the location, while Salman is seen stepping out in casual gear: cargo pants, an olive-green tee, sneakers, and dark sunglasses.

Earlier, Salman made the official announcement of the shoot by sharing a photo of himself with a clapperboard titled Battle of Galwan.

The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley and is being filmed in the very terrain that witnessed those events.

Salman has spoken openly about how demanding this role is turning out to be. He mentioned that action sequences have become tougher with age, saying that what he once managed in one or two weeks of training now requires much more β€” running, kicking, punching, and braving high altitude and cold water.
