Janhvi Kapoor Wins Praise from Co-Star Akshay Oberoi for Her Humility and Depth on the ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ Set
Oberoi says Janhvi’s intelligence, grounded nature and willingness to be vulnerable made working together a delight

In Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming rom-com Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari—set to hit theaters on October 2, 2025, timed with the Dussehra festivities—actors Akshay Oberoi and Janhvi Kapoor shared an evolving on-screen friendship that pleasantly surprised him.
Akshay recently opened up about their dynamic in a candid conversation. Initially, they were acquaintances on set—“the first couple of days, we didn’t speak much,” he recalled. By the fourth or fifth day, though, things changed. “She opened up, and I opened up,” he said, describing Janhvi as “incredibly intelligent and well-read,” someone who can engage in deep discussions on philosophers like Nietzsche and Kant.
More striking, according to Akshay, was Janhvi’s graceful humility. Despite being part of Bollywood royalty, she remained “self-deprecating,” approachable, and never put on airs—qualities that made the collaboration easier and more genuine than anticipated. Akshay also reflected on the pressures she faces: “Being Sridevi’s daughter is not easy… but she never acted like she was above me. She’s wonderful.”
Off-camera, their bond continues to resonate—Akshay mentioned that they recently crossed paths at an event and were genuinely happy to reconnect.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions alongside Mentor Disciple Film, the film is a festive, quirky romantic comedy featuring a star-studded ensemble: Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Akshay Oberoi.
Set against a backdrop of love, misunderstandings, and laughter, the story follows the titular characters Sunny and Tulsi through an uproarious love-triangle of sorts—rich in heart and humor.
Adding to the excitement, the film is set to clash at the box office with Kantara: Chapter 1, making October 2, 2025, one of the most anticipated dates for cinema lovers.
