Hrithik Roshan Bags ₹50 Cr Upfront + Profit Deal for War 2; Joins Bollywood’s Elite YRF Club
With a backend profit-sharing agreement and a star-studded cast including Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 is shaping up to be one of India’s costliest and most ambitious action thrillers.

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is set to make a thunderous return as Major Kabir Dhaliwal in War 2, the much-anticipated sequel directed by Brahmāstra filmmaker Ayan Mukerji. Following the success of Fighter earlier this year, Hrithik has locked a major payday for this high-octane actioner, produced under Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe.
According to recent reports, Hrithik has already pocketed an upfront fee of ₹50 crore for the film. But that’s not all—he’s also signed a lucrative backend profit-sharing deal with producer Aditya Chopra, ensuring he earns a substantial share of the film’s net profits once it hits theatres and completes its box office run.
This strategy isn’t new for YRF’s top-tier stars. Hrithik now joins Shah Rukh Khan (Pathaan), Salman Khan (Tiger 3), and Aamir Khan (Thugs of Hindostan)—all of whom have secured similar backend agreements with the production powerhouse.
Jr NTR & Kiara Advani Also Secure Big Paydays
Joining Hrithik in War 2 is Telugu superstar Jr NTR, who makes his big Bollywood debut with the film. The RRR actor has reportedly charged a staggering ₹70 crore for his role, marking one of the highest fees for a debut in Hindi cinema. Kiara Advani, who plays the female lead Kavya Luthra, has been paid ₹15 crore, while veteran actor Anil Kapoor, also in a key role, will reportedly take home ₹10 crore.
War 2—YRF’s Costliest Venture Yet
With a reported production budget of ₹400 crore, War 2 is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. The movie is expected to expand the YRF Spy Universe, following the interconnected timelines of Pathaan, Tiger, and War. The recently released trailer has already created massive buzz among fans, hinting at an intense face-off between Hrithik and Jr NTR.
As anticipation builds, War 2 is slated to hit cinemas in 2025, and expectations are sky-high—not just for the action, but for the box office fireworks it promises.
