Jaideep Ahlawat Joins Shah Rukh Khan’s King: Reveals How SRK Personally Got Him On Board
After Jewel Thief, Jaideep returns to collaborate with director Siddharth Anand, thanks to a special call from Shah Rukh Khan himself
Acclaimed actor Jaideep Ahlawat has officially confirmed that he will be part of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated action film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. Speaking about how he landed the role, Jaideep shared a surprising behind-the-scenes detail — it was SRK himself who reached out to him.
He revealed, “From what I know, Shah Rukh sir had been thinking about this for a while. Siddharth Anand was a bit hesitant to approach me because it’s a small part, especially after Jewel Thief. But Khan saab, being who he is, said, ‘I’ll speak to him.’ And honestly, who can say no to him?”
Jaideep also took a moment to express his admiration for the Bollywood superstar, saying, “I really like him. Every time I’ve interacted with him — whether during the four-five days of shooting for Raees, or in the few times we’ve met since — he’s always made me feel incredibly valued. He’s a truly remarkable human being, full of warmth and respect. He has this rare quality of making everyone feel like the most important person in the room.”
Audiences last saw Jaideep in Siddharth Anand’s Jewel Thief, where he played the lead antagonist opposite Saif Ali Khan. The performance not only showcased his acting prowess but also drew attention for his unexpectedly slick dance moves. Jewel Thief is currently available to stream on Netflix.
King also stars Suhana Khan, making one of her first major theatrical appearances, alongside seasoned actor Saurabh Shukla. While the official cast list remains under wraps, buzz suggests that Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor may also be involved. The film is currently in production, with an official release date yet to be announced.
