Abhishek Bachchan Returns with Heartwarming Drama Kaalidhar Laapata on Zee5

The actor teams up with Zeeshan Ayyub and child artist Daivik Bhagela in a soul-stirring tale of unexpected friendship, streaming from July 4, 2025.

After tickling funny bones in Housefull 5, Abhishek Bachchan is all set to take a more emotional turn with his next OTT release, Kaalidhar Laapata. Directed by Madhumita (known for KD), this poignant rural drama is slated to premiere on Zee5 on July 4, 2025.

Abhishek unveiled the first look of the film on Instagram, showing him perched on a tree branch beside a cheerful young boy. Sporting a rugged look with a long beard, checkered shirt, and white trousers, his character appears to be embracing a simpler life.

The duo is seen laughing together—signalling a heartwarming bond that lies at the core of the narrative. Abhishek captioned the poster:
“Charchaon par ab full stop. Sometimes, getting lost isn’t a detour; it’s where the real story begins. Full of dreams, twists, and the people who make it worth it. #KaalidharLaapata premieres 4th July, only on #ZEE5.”

Set against the backdrop of rural India, Kaalidhar Laapata tells the story of an ageing man who runs away from home after overhearing his family’s plans to abandon him. On his journey, he encounters Ballu, a spirited 8-year-old orphan, played by Daivik Bhagela, whose infectious zest for life rekindles the old man’s long-lost joy. What follows is an unexpected road trip filled with quirky adventures, life lessons, and a shared mission to complete their bucket list.

The film also features Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub in a key role and is produced by Emmay Entertainment and Zee Studios, with backing from Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani.

Besides Kaalidhar Laapata, Abhishek Bachchan is also gearing up for his historical role in Raja Shivaji alongside Riteish Deshmukh.
