Tina Fey and Steve Carell Reunite in Netflix’s ‘The Four Seasons’—A Witty Take on Friendship, Love, and Midlife Upheaval

Premiering May 1, this eight-episode dramedy revives the 1981 classic with a modern ensemble cast, exploring the complexities of long-term relationships through seasonal getaways.

Tina Fey returns to the screen alongside Steve Carell in The Four Seasons, an eight-part Netflix miniseries premiering May 1. Co-created by Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, the series reimagines Alan Alda’s 1981 romantic comedy, following three long-time couples whose annual vacations are disrupted when one pair announces their separation.

Fey stars as Kate, married to Jack (Will Forte), while Carell portrays Nick, who, after divorcing Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), introduces his much younger girlfriend to the group, unsettling the friends’ dynamic. Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani round out the trio as Danny and Claude, a couple navigating their own relationship challenges.

The narrative unfolds over four seasonal vacations, delving into themes of love, friendship, and personal growth. Fey drew inspiration from Adam Sandler’s production style, favoring intimate settings and ensemble casts. Alan Alda, the original film’s creator, serves as a producer and makes a cameo appearance.

The Four Seasons is part of Netflix’s May lineup, which also features the return of Love, Death & Robots and stand-up specials from Mike Birbiglia and Sarah Silverman.
