The film delves into Nair’s legal confrontation with the British Raj following the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, this courtroom drama also features R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles.
Inspired by Raghu and Pushpa Palat’s book, The Case That Shook the Empire, the narrative centers on the 1924 libel suit filed by Michael O’Dwyer against Nair, who had publicly condemned O’Dwyer’s role in the massacre. The film aims to shed light on this significant yet often overlooked chapter of India’s struggle for independence.
Originally slated for a March release, the film is now set to premiere on April 18, 2025, coinciding with Good Friday. Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, the movie is anticipated to resonate with audiences across India.
