Rating: 2.5/5

Plot Overview:

“Loveyapa” follows the story of Gaurav Sachdeva (Junaid Khan) and Baani Sharma (Khushi Kapoor), a young couple navigating love in the digital era. Their relationship takes an unexpected turn when Baani’s strict father, Atul (Ashutosh Rana), catches them talking late at night. To test their trust and commitment, he challenges them to exchange their unlocked phones for one night. If they make it through without breaking up, they’ll have his blessing for marriage.

What starts as a simple test soon spirals into chaos as secrets unravel, exposing past relationships and hidden truths. This seemingly harmless challenge turns into a whirlwind of emotions, making the couple question everything they thought they knew about each other.

Performance & Review:

“Loveyapa” attempts to explore modern relationships and the thin line between trust and privacy. However, its execution feels uneven, with the first half focusing on Gaurav uncovering Baani’s past and the second half flipping the scenario. The pacing feels cluttered at times, with too many twists packed into a short runtime.

Junaid Khan delivers a decent performance, though his acting has been met with mixed reactions. Khushi Kapoor, showing growth since “Archies,” makes an earnest effort, but their on-screen chemistry falls flat. The film does manage to sprinkle in some comedic moments, but it lacks the emotional depth needed to make the romance feel compelling.

Final Verdict:

While “Loveyapa” attempts to highlight modern dating dilemmas, it leans more on surface-level drama than deep emotional engagement. As a launchpad for Junaid Khan, it serves its purpose but doesn’t leave a lasting impact. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted rom-com with minimal expectations, “Loveyapa” might be worth a watch.
