Suriya Unveils ‘Retro’ Teaser with Director Karthik Subbaraj

Upcoming action thriller ‘Retro’ promises a gripping tale of love and vengeance, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde.

Following the underwhelming reception of ‘Kanguva’, actor Suriya has joined forces with acclaimed director Karthik Subbaraj for his 44th film, officially titled ‘Retro’. The film is produced by Stone Bench Creations and 2D Entertainment.

On Christmas Day, Suriya shared the title teaser of ‘Retro’ on social media, captioning it: “Merry Christmas Dear All #Retro Summer 2025.” The teaser introduces Suriya and Pooja Hegde as a couple, with Suriya’s character revealing a tumultuous past that he pledges to leave behind in pursuit of love. Despite his commitment, glimpses of his violent history suggest a narrative centered on redemption and revenge.

‘Retro’ is scheduled for a theatrical release in mid-2025, with music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, marking his first collaboration with Suriya and eighth with Subbaraj.

The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages.This collaboration has generated significant anticipation among fans and critics, eager to see Suriya in a new avatar under Subbaraj’s distinctive direction.
