On Tuesday, Akshay Kumar delighted fans by announcing his next horror-comedy project, Bhooth Bangla, directed by his long-time collaborator Priyadarshan. The film is slated for release on April 2, 2026, and filming has officially begun.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Akshay shared a striking poster that showcases him perched on a spooky structure, holding a lantern. Dressed in a white shirt, dhoti, blue half-jacket, and a crimson tie, the actor teased a perfect blend of humor and horror. A haunting castle looms in the background of the poster, setting the tone for the movie.
Sharing his excitement, Akshay captioned the post, “Beyond excited to be on set with my favourite @priyadarshandir as we begin the shoot of our horror comedy #BhoothBangla today. Yeh darr aur hasi ka double dose aapke liye ready hoga 2nd April, 2026 ko! Tab tak ke liye aapke best wishes chahiye.”
The film marks the reunion of Akshay and Priyadarshan after 14 years. Their last collaboration was the 2010 political satire Khatta Meetha. The duo has a stellar track record of creating iconic comedies such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Bhagam Bhag.
Fans eagerly await this return of the Akshay-Priyadarshan magic, as Bhooth Bangla promises to be a “double dose” of laughter and spine-chilling thrills.
