Mirzapur Heads to the Big Screen: Ali Fazal Teases Guddu Bhaiya’s Next Chapter
From gritty gang wars to cinematic glory, the Mirzapur team gears up for a high-stakes adaptation.

The fan-favorite Mirzapur series from Prime Video is making the leap to the big screen, bringing its iconic characters into a larger-than-life cinematic experience. Ali Fazal, known for his magnetic portrayal of Guddu Bhaiya, recently opened up about the challenges of adapting the layered narrative from three seasons into a feature film.
Speaking with India Today Digital, Fazal shared his excitement, calling the project a milestone for the team. Reflecting on his character’s journey, he admitted uncertainty about how Guddu’s arc would evolve in the movie format. “The goal now is to distill all the depth from the three seasons into a concise one- or two-hour cinematic experience, which is quite a challenge. It all depends on how the story unfolds in this new format,” he said.
Interestingly, Fazal noted that the announcement aligns with a similar move by the popular Hollywood series Peaky Blinders, which is also being adapted into a film. He hinted at the creative hurdles of translating Guddu Bhaiya’s larger-than-life persona to a theatrical scale while keeping the essence intact.
Recently, fans were treated to glimpses of returning stars like Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, and Abhishek Banerjee, sparking excitement for the film. Created by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur: The Film will be helmed by director Gurmmeet Singh and backed by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
With its iconic characters and gritty storytelling, the film promises to dive deeper into Mirzapur’s chaotic world of power and revenge. Fans are eagerly awaiting this next chapter in the franchise’s explosive legacy.
