After a recent health setback, superstar Rajinikanth is on a temporary break from work, focusing on rest and recovery. However, the legendary actor is expected to resume filming next month, dedicating himself entirely to the highly anticipated action drama Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie has assembled a star-studded cast, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan, in pivotal roles.

Although the film’s production schedule was briefly impacted by Rajinikanth’s health break, Kanagaraj and his team are now reorganizing timelines to keep the project on track for a May 1st release. Taking advantage of the long summer weekend, Coolie promises to captivate audiences with its intense storyline centered around the gold-smuggling underworld. Produced by Sun Pictures, this high-budget thriller also features music by Anirudh and is touted as Rajinikanth’s most expensive film to date.
