Karan Johar Unveils New Romantic Film Chand Mera Dil with Ananya Panday and Lakshya

Directed by Vivek Soni, this “unique and passionate” love story marks Dharma Productions’ first project since the Adar Poonawalla partnership.

Karan Johar has just announced his upcoming film, Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya in lead roles. The announcement included four posters featuring the lead pair, who appear to be deeply in love. Directed by Vivek Soni, best known for his work on Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021), this film promises an intense romance and is set to release in 2025 under Dharma Productions.

In an Instagram post, Johar expressed his excitement, describing Chand Mera Dil as a “unique and passionate love story.” He wrote, “We have two chands ready to bring an intense & passionate love story like no other! Pyaar mein thoda paagal hona hi padta hai.” Alongside the post, he shared a teaser of the film’s concept, creating a buzz among fans.

This project is Dharma Productions’ first major film since billionaire Adar Poonawalla acquired a 50% stake in both Dharma Productions and its digital branch, Dharmatic Entertainment. Established by Yash Johar in 1976, Dharma has a legacy of producing celebrated films, including Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Student of the Year, Good Newwz, and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.

For the cast, this film is another milestone. Ananya Panday recently appeared in CTRL, a cautionary tale about the effects of social media and artificial intelligence, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. She also made her OTT debut in Call Me Bae, a comedy series about a young Delhi woman navigating life in Mumbai. Lakshya, on the other hand, made his Bollywood debut with Kill, produced by Dharma Productions.
