Ajay Devgn Dominates Box Office with ‘Singham Again’ and Sets Up Sequel Surge

After record-breaking success, Devgn gears up for action-packed sequels with ‘Raid 2’ and a long-awaited comedy comeback in ‘Son of Sardaar 2.’

Ajay Devgn’s latest release, Singham Again, has stormed the box office, setting a new benchmark as the highest-grossing film of its opening weekend. The film, where Devgn reprises his iconic role as Bajirao Singham, pulled in an impressive 121 crore in just three days, igniting excitement among fans for what’s next from the action star.

Building on this momentum, Devgn will return as the no-nonsense IRS officer Amay Patnaik in Raid 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit Raid. This eagerly anticipated follow-up, set for a February 21, 2025 release, will also star Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh. Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the sequel will continue Raid’s tribute to unsung heroes in the Income Tax Department. The first film, inspired by a real-life tax raid in the 1980s—the longest in Indian history—left fans eager for more, and Raid 2 promises another thrilling story, although its plot details remain under wraps.

Adding to the excitement, Devgn is also set to return to comedy with Son of Sardaar 2, over a decade after the 2012 original. Filming began in London this past August, with Ravi Kishan stepping in for Sanjay Dutt due to Dutt’s UK visa issues. Despite initial reports of his exit, Dutt is confirmed to remain in the cast, alongside Mrunal Thakur, Juhi Chawla, and Sonakshi Sinha. Although plot specifics are still undisclosed, fans are already buzzing for Devgn’s comedic comeback.
