Hunter Parrish Joins Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis in Amazon’s Mystery Thriller Scarpetta

The Weeds Star to Play Young FBI Profiler in the Adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s Crime Novels, Produced by Blumhouse Television

Hunter Parrish is set to appear alongside Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis in Scarpetta, an upcoming mystery thriller series from Blumhouse Television, which has already secured a two-season order from Amazon Prime Video.

The series features a star-studded cast, including Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, and Jake Cannavale.

An adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s popular Kay Scarpetta novels, the show centers on Kidman’s character, Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a chief medical examiner who returns to Virginia to reclaim her old position. As she navigates complex personal and professional relationships—especially with her estranged sister Dorothy, played by Curtis—Scarpetta uncovers secrets, grudges, and lies that keep the drama simmering.

Parrish will portray the younger version of Benton Wesley, an FBI profiler who, in the books, develops a romantic relationship with Scarpetta. His role will likely unfold through flashbacks, adding depth to the narrative.

Hunter Parrish is best known for his role as Silas Botwin, the son of Mary-Louise Parker’s character, in the hit Showtime series Weeds. He also starred on Broadway in Godspell and To Kill a Mockingbird and more recently took the lead in Hulu’s The Other Black Girl. Parrish’s film credits include Still Alice, It’s Complicated, and 17 Again.
