Lara Croft Returns: Netflix Greenlights Season 2 of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft

The iconic adventurer embarks on a globe-trotting hunt for ancient artifacts and dark secrets in the next chapter.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man may return to theaters in 2026, but another fan-favorite hero is already preparing for her next mission. Netflix has officially renewed Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft for a second season, just two weeks after the debut of the first season’s eight episodes.

Based on the legendary Tomb Raider video game franchise, the animated series continues the journey of Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell), bridging the gap between the modern reboot trilogy from Square Enix and the events of the classic games. Season 2 promises even more high-stakes adventure as Lara’s story deepens.

In the upcoming season, Lara stumbles upon the trail of stolen African Orisha masks. To recover these powerful artifacts, she reunites with her best friend Sam (voiced by Karen Fukuhara). Together, they race against a shadowy billionaire with her own sinister plans for the masks, uncovering a hidden history and supernatural power that may transcend logic—perhaps even touching the divine.

The ensemble cast from season one also includes Allen Maldonado, Earl Baylon, Richard Armitage, Zoe Boyle, Roxana Ortega, and Nolan North.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is produced by Legendary Television, with writer and executive producer Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin). Powerhouse Animation leads the animation, with Brad Graeber as executive producer. Key collaborators include Dmitri M. Johnson of dj2 Entertainment and Dallas Dickinson from Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the Tomb Raider games.

With the renewal already in motion, fans can look forward to more treasure hunts, mythological mysteries, and dangerous rivals as Lara Croft’s animated adventures continue.
