Drama on the Sets: Sanjay Mishra Steps In, Vijay Raaz Out of ‘Son of Sardaar 2’

From sudden cast changes to allegations of misconduct, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ faces turbulence as Sanjay Mishra replaces Vijay Raaz amidst controversy.

The much-anticipated Son of Sardaar 2, headlined by Ajay Devgn, has found itself in the middle of controversy. Reports have confirmed that veteran actor Vijay Raaz, originally cast in a key role, was unexpectedly dropped from the project. Raaz has now been replaced by Sanjay Mishra, adding fuel to rumors about disagreements behind the scenes.

In a recent interview with India Today, Sanjay Mishra opened up about his sudden entry into the film. He shared that he has already completed filming his portions. Reflecting on the situation, Mishra said, “All of this is part of the business, to be honest.” The Jolly LLB 2 actor added that a phone call from Ajay Devgn was enough to convince him to step into Raaz’s role, despite the challenges. “Replacing Vijay wasn’t easy for me,” Mishra confessed, calling Devgn a close friend and emphasizing that it was difficult to take over from such a talented actor.

Mishra was generous in his praise for Vijay Raaz, who recently appeared in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. “He’s a phenomenal actor, and I knew I had to give my best to meet the expectations,” he said. Mishra also mentioned that despite the replacement, his friendship with Raaz remains unaffected. “I’ve always admired Vijay’s work, and that admiration motivated me to deliver a performance that wouldn’t disappoint the audience or Ajay, who trusted me with the role,” he added.

Meanwhile, Son of Sardaar 2 producer Kumar Mangat Pathak confirmed the real reason for Raaz’s abrupt exit. Mangat revealed that Raaz’s behavior on set had become problematic, alleging that the actor made excessive demands. “He asked for larger rooms, a vanity van, and even inflated the wages of his crew,” Mangat said. “His spot boy was being paid ₹20,000 per night—more than what top actors pay.”

In response, Vijay Raaz shared his side of the story. He denied any intentional misconduct, explaining that a misunderstanding may have led to his removal. “I noticed Ajay standing about 25 meters away, but since he seemed occupied, I didn’t go over to greet him,” Raaz said. “Twenty-five minutes later, Mr. Kumar Mangat came to me and said, ‘Aap film se nikal jaaye, hum aapko nikal rahe hai.’ If anything, my only fault was not greeting Ajay.”

The sudden changes and behind-the-scenes drama have added an unexpected twist to the production of Son of Sardaar 2. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how the film shapes up with Sanjay Mishra in a pivotal role and whether the controversy will affect its performance at the box office.
