Will Smith and Michael Bay Eye Action-Packed Netflix Reunion with “Fast and Loose”

Nearly 30 years after their iconic collaboration in Bad Boys, Smith and Bay are set to reunite for the adrenaline-fueled thriller Fast and Loose, following a man caught between two lives.

Will Smith and director Michael Bay are on the verge of reuniting nearly three decades after their groundbreaking success with Bad Boys. Bay is currently in talks to helm the action thriller Fast and Loose for Netflix, with Smith slated for the leading role.

Fast and Loose tells the gripping story of a man who wakes up in Tijuana with no recollection of his past. As he unravels the mystery of his identity, he discovers that he’s been living two dangerously different lives—one as a powerful crime lord, and the other as an undercover CIA operative.

The script for Fast and Loose was crafted by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson. Smith is also involved behind the scenes as a producer, alongside Kelly McCormick and David Leitch from 87North Productions. Jon Mone and Ryan Shimazaki are in negotiations to produce the film for Westbrook Studios, while James Lassiter is also expected to contribute. Additionally, Robert Simonds and Noah Fogelson are on board as executive producers representing STXfilms, with Barry Waldman joining the team as well.

Smith and Bay first collaborated on 1995’s Bad Boys, which marked Bay’s directorial debut and became a massive box office hit. The action-packed franchise has since spawned three successful sequels: Bad Boys II, Bad Boys for Life, and the upcoming Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

In recent years, Smith has continued to impress audiences, earning an Academy Award for his portrayal of Richard Williams in King Richard (2021). His most recent role was in Apple TV’s Emancipation (2022), and he’s soon to star in the sci-fi thriller Resistor, based on Daniel Suarez’s novel Influx.

Michael Bay, known for blockbusters like the Transformers series and Pearl Harbor, is exploring new territory as well. He is in early discussions with former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman to adapt the viral “Skibidi Toilet” meme into both TV and film projects.

As Smith and Bay gear up for Fast and Loose, fans of their earlier collaborations can look forward to another explosive and action-packed reunion.
