Bill Hader and Duffy Boudreau Reunite for New HBO Comedy Project

The duo behind “Barry” teams up once again for an untitled small-town comedy series

Bill Hader and Duffy Boudreau are collaborating once more, developing a comedy pilot for HBO. The untitled project follows the story of a woman in a small town whose life turns upside down when a major secret comes to light. Hader and Boudreau will serve as co-writers and executive producers on the series.

The pair’s creative partnership dates back to their teenage years in Tulsa, OK. They previously joined forces on the critically acclaimed HBO series Barry, which Hader co-created and starred in. Boudreau, initially a writer on the show, eventually became co-executive producer. Their collaboration extends to other projects as well, including multiple episodes of *Documentary Now*.

Boudreau’s resume also includes work on the popular Netflix animated series *Big Mouth* and Hulu’s *Hit-Monkey*. His writing earned him an Emmy nomination for the *Barry* Season 3 episode “710N,” alongside Hader and co-creator Alec Berg.

Hader’s performance in Barry earned him a total of 16 Emmy nominations across the show’s four-season run, which concluded in 2023. He won two Emmys for Best Actor in a Comedy in 2018 and 2019. Outside of Barry, Hader is well-known for his years on *Saturday Night Live*, as well as roles in shows like South Park and films such as IT: Chapter Two, Inside Out, and Trainwreck.
