Johnny Depp to Receive Career Award at Rome Film Festival

Actor’s New Film “Modi” Set for Italian Premiere

Johnny Depp will be honored with a prestigious career award at the upcoming Rome Film Festival. The festival will also host the Italian premiere of his latest directorial venture, “Modi,” a biopic about the iconic Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.

“Modi,” starring Riccardo Scamarcio as the renowned painter and sculptor, will be showcased in the non-competitive Grand Public section of the festival. The film, which also features Al Pacino, Antonia Desplat, and Stephen Graham, takes place in Paris during World War I, capturing a pivotal 72-hour period in Modigliani’s life.

Produced by Barry Navidi Prods. and IN.2 Films, “Modi” marks Depp’s return to directing after a hiatus of over two decades. This project also signifies his comeback to the film festival circuit following his high-profile legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp’s appearance at the Rome Film Festival is expected to generate significant interest and attention.
