Salman Khan Reveals His Dream Remake of a Salim-Javed Classic
Superstar’s Choice Surprises Roundtable Participants

In a recent YouTube roundtable discussion hosted by Prime Video, the legendary writing duo Salim-Javed shared fascinating insights into their journey and impact on Bollywood. The session, moderated by Farah Khan, featured the children of the writers, actor-director Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, as well as actor Salman Khan, son of Salim Khan.
The roundtable delved into the duo’s struggles and triumphs, culminating in the creation of the iconic “Angry Young Man” archetype. During the discussion, Farah Khan asked Salman Khan which Salim-Javed film he would like to remake. To everyone’s surprise, the superstar revealed his top choices: “Sholay” and “Deewaar.”
When asked specifically if he would prefer to play Veeru or Jai from “Sholay,” a role originally portrayed by Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan, respectively, Salman expressed his versatility. “I can play both,” he confidently stated, even adding, “Gabbar also.” The roundtable participants, including Javed Akhtar, unanimously agreed that Salman would be perfect for the role of Veeru.
The three-episode series “Angry Young Men,” which explores the legacy of Salim-Javed, was released on August 20. The project is a collaborative effort between Salman Khan Films, Excel Media and Entertainment, and Tiger Baby.
