Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera, or Career Leopard, at the 77th Locarno Film Festival. The award recognizes his exceptional contributions to cinema. In a candid conversation with festival director Giona A Nazzaro, the actor opened up about his career, upcoming projects, and personal goals.
Khan revealed exciting details about his next film, “King,” which is being directed by his long-time collaborator Sujoy Ghosh. The actor shared that he has been contemplating a new kind of role for several years and mentioned the idea to Ghosh during one of their casual conversations. Intrigued by the concept, Ghosh developed a compelling story, leading to the birth of “King.”
As part of his preparation for the film, Khan announced his intention to undergo a physical transformation. “I have to lose some weight and get back in shape,” he said, emphasizing his dedication to the role. The actor also expressed his enjoyment of the creative process, explaining that the long gestation period for his films is due to the deep bond he forms with his directors.
Adding to the buzz around “King,” reports suggest that Shah Rukh’s daughter, Suhana Khan, is set to make her big-screen debut in the film. Following her successful OTT debut in “The Archies,” this will mark her entry into the world of Bollywood. Additionally, Abhishek Bachchan is rumored to play the antagonist, reuniting the trio after their collaboration in the thriller “Bob Biswas.”
