From Outsider to Action Hero: Raghav Juyal on Overcoming Nepotism and the Success of “Kill”
Actor Breaks Out in High-Octane Role, Encourages Fans to Support Non-Star Films

Raghav Juyal, known for his energetic dance moves, has transformed into a ruthless villain in the recently released action film “Kill.” The movie, which also stars Lakshya and Tanya Maniktala, has been a surprising hit, thanks in part to strong word-of-mouth. In a recent interview with India Today, Juyal, who considers himself an “outsider” in Bollywood, opened up about his journey in the industry and the importance of audience support for non-star-driven films.
Juyal, who hails from Dehradun with no family connections in Bollywood, emphasized the hard work it took to carve his own path. He acknowledged the challenges faced by outsiders but stressed the importance of perseverance. “I can’t be going into the complaining mode,” he said, comparing his approach to that of athletes who bounce back from setbacks.
Interestingly, Juyal praises “Kill” co-producer Karan Johar, often criticized for promoting nepotism. He points out that Johar backed two newcomers in this film and urges the audience to support such projects.
The positive reception to “Kill” has been a “big achievement” for Juyal and his co-star, Lakshya. Juyal credits the film’s success to word-of-mouth buzz, highlighting the power of audience engagement.
