From Bollywood Hit to Global Phenomenon: “Kill” Set for Remakes in South India and Hollywood
Small Budget Action Thriller Becomes Surprise Success

A surprise Bollywood action thriller, “Kill,” has become a major sensation and is on track to become a blockbuster. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the film has held its own against bigger budget releases and continues to bring in strong box office numbers. The film features Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Chhaya, Tanya Maniktala, and Abhishek Chauhan.

The success of “Kill” has not gone unnoticed. Karan Johar, one of the film’s producers, is considering remaking the film in four South Indian languages: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. He is reportedly interested in collaborating with a renowned South Indian production house and a major South Indian star. Interestingly, actors Sudheer Babu and Kiran Abbavaram have already approached Johar about acquiring the remake rights.
However, Johar seems keen to maintain creative control. Even more surprising, Hollywood is taking notice. John Wick director Chad Stahelski has signed on to co-produce and remake “Kill” for a Hollywood audience. This deal was finalized before “Kill” was even released in theaters, indicating strong pre-release buzz and potential.
