Pandey explained that being new to the South Indian film industry and unfamiliar with the language, she was taken advantage of by her managers. She also revealed being body-shamed despite having an athletic physique due to her involvement in sports.

For those unfamiliar, Arjun Reddy is a controversial romantic drama featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. The story centers around a troubled surgeon who struggles with anger management and addiction. While critically divisive, the film launched Deverakonda’s career and was remade in several languages.
