Indian 2 Faces Mixed Reviews, Leading to Quick Edits

Filmmaker Shankar Criticized for Outdated Style Despite Huge Budget

“Indian 2,” released on Friday, has garnered mixed reactions. Director Shankar is facing heavy criticism for his seemingly outdated approach, even though a substantial budget was allocated for the film. The main issues cited are the lengthy and tedious second half and the overall runtime. In response to the negative feedback, the filmmakers have trimmed 20 minutes from the movie, with the new version available starting today. Despite the poor word of mouth causing significant damage, this edit might salvage the film’s performance over the weekend. The final runtime is now 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, Shankar and Kamal Haasan have already wrapped up shooting for “Indian 3,” scheduled for release next year. However, Lyca Productions is expected to incur considerable losses from “Indian 2.” Shankar still needs to finish the remaining portions of Ram Charan’s “Game Changer” and hopes to make a comeback with it. If “Game Changer” performs well, it could help in promoting “Indian 3.” Otherwise, the film and Shankar’s career might face further challenges.
