Lori Loughlin Reflects on Working with Keanu Reeves in a Forgotten Gem

Actress shares fond memories from her 1988 film “The Night Before” and praises co-star Keanu Reeves while discussing on a podcast.

Embarking on a nostalgic journey, Lori Loughlin delves into the delightful experience of collaborating with Keanu Reeves on the obscure 1988 movie “The Night Before.”

In a recent appearance on the podcast “How Rude, Tanneritos!” hosted by her former co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, the “Full House” luminary reminisced about the teen comedy. Directed by Thom Eberhardt, the film revolves around Reeves’ character, Winston, escorting the popular high school girl, Tara (portrayed by Loughlin), to prom, only to find himself devoid of memories and Tara mysteriously absent the next morning.

“Was [Reeves] the nerdy guy?” inquired Sweetin, to which Loughlin affirmed, “He was the nerdy guy. Could you imagine?”

Describing Reeves, known for his iconic role in “The Matrix,” as “wonderful” and “lovely,” Loughlin extolled his demeanor, proclaiming, “What a lovely, lovely man.”

Expressing her eagerness to meet Reeves, Sweetin conveyed her admiration for him, prompted by the myriad of positive anecdotes she had heard. Loughlin, validating Sweetin’s sentiments, dubbed Reeves “a dream” and “so sweet.”

Amidst their dialogue, Loughlin recollected the filming of “The Night Before,” labeling it a “funny” movie with a “quirky black comedy” essence. While she fondly recounted her enjoyable experience on set, she recounted a chilling incident during nighttime shoots in downtown Los Angeles. Returning from lunch one evening, the cast was startled to learn of a murder in the alley where they had been filming.

Reflecting on the incident, Loughlin remarked, “I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ We were in the thick of it.” This reminiscence from Loughlin, who later faced legal repercussions related to the 2019 college admissions scandal, adds a curious twist to her trip down memory lane.
