New Franchise Ventures Await Fans of Hit Heist Comedy and Buddy Film
Producers Tease Sequel Concepts for “Crew” and “Veere Di Wedding” Franchise Expansion

In a recent revelation that might thrill fans longing for more from the world of the hit heist comedy “Crew,” co-producer Rhea Kapoor hinted at the possibility of transforming the film into a full-fledged franchise. Lead actors Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon charmed audiences with their performances in the original film.
Expressing her usual apprehension towards sequels, Rhea Kapoor admitted in an interview with Variety, “I really get scared of sequels… But this is the first film where I finished the film and a week later, my writers have messaged me and told me that they have an idea for the sequel. I was like, this is crazy. This is insane.” She added that the open-ended conclusion of the film has sparked considerable excitement and might pave the way for a sequel.
Moreover, Kapoor and her co-producer Ektaa Kapoor disclosed plans for a follow-up to their 2018 buddy movie “Veere Di Wedding,” which featured Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, Sonam Kapoor, and Shikha Talsania in prominent roles. Encouraged by the box office success of the original film, the producers aim to delve deeper into the lives of these dynamic female characters, potentially releasing the sequel over Easter weekend.
Speaking about the forthcoming “Veere Di Wedding” sequel, Kapoor shared, “It’s a work in progress, but it’s happening and it’s exciting… It’s a rediscovery of what the spirit of ‘Veere Di Wedding’ was, so it’s not going to be what people expect.”
With these tantalizing hints dropped by the producers, fans can anticipate an expansion of their favorite film universes, promising more thrills, laughs, and memorable moments in the future.
