Ganatra, known for her recent work on Hulu’s “Welcome to Chippendale’s” and films like “The High Note” and “Late Night,” has been chosen to lead the anticipated sequel, marking a significant moment for fans eagerly awaiting the return of the beloved body-swapping tale.

Rumors of a sequel to “Freaky Friday” began circulating back in October 2022, initially sparked by Curtis’s remarks on “The View,” where she hinted at reaching out to Disney about the possibility. Since then, both Curtis and Lohan have expressed enthusiasm for reuniting on screen for another round of comedic role reversal.
