Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Welcome Baby Boy, Name Him Akaay

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma announced the arrival of their newborn son, whom they have named “Akaay,” in a joint statement. The couple revealed that their baby boy was born on February 15.

Taking to their Instagram accounts, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma expressed their joy, stating, “With hearts brimming with love and immense happiness, we are thrilled to share that on the 15th of February, our little bundle of joy, Akaay, entered the world, becoming Vamika’s younger brother!”

The couple also extended their gratitude and requested privacy during this special time, saying, “We seek your blessings and good wishes as we embark on this beautiful journey. Kindly respect our privacy at this time.”

Speculations surrounding Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy began circulating online around November 2023, particularly after her appearance at a Diwali celebration in Bengaluru before Team India’s World Cup match against the Netherlands.

While the couple had chosen to remain silent about Anushka’s pregnancy, observant fans noticed the actress’s baby bump during the Diwali festivities, sparking a wave of speculation across the internet.

Although Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma refrained from sharing updates regarding the pregnancy, former South African cricket captain AB de Villiers confirmed the news in early February, stating, “Yes, his second child is on the way. Family is important to him, and you can’t fault Virat for that.”

De Villiers further emphasized the significance of family priorities and supported Kohli’s decision to focus on this aspect of his life, acknowledging that while Kohli’s absence from cricket may be felt, it was the right choice for him personally.
