Dua Lipa Finds Unexpected Emotional Support in John Cena on the Set of Barbie and Argylle

In a surprising turn of events, pop sensation Dua Lipa has delved into the world of acting, taking on roles in films such as Barbie and Argylle, where she found an unexpected but reliable companion in co-star John Cena.

The acclaimed singer, known for hits like “Dance the Night,” made her acting debut in the Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie film, where both Lipa and Cena portrayed merpeople. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Lipa humorously expressed, “It seems like I can’t seem to do anything without him! He’s really my emotional support actor.”

Reflecting on Gerwig’s directorial prowess, Lipa praised her for defying expectations with the Barbie film. She shared, “The thing is, Greta just really defied all odds. Nobody knew what to expect from the Barbie film, and for it to hit so many chords, from being fun and happy to touching on something really emotional, makes you contemplate your place and what’s expected of you, especially as a woman.”

Following her successful debut, Dua Lipa is set to grace the screen again in Argylle, a spy action film directed by Matthew Vaughn and written by Jason Fuchs. Not only does Lipa take on the role of LaGrange in the film, but she also contributes to the movie’s soundtrack.

The star-studded cast of Argylle includes not only Cena but also Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Rob Delaney, and Jing Lusi, promising an exciting cinematic experience for audiences.
