Nitesh Tiwari Unveils Ambitious Plans for Epic Ramayana Film, Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash

In an exciting development, Nitesh Tiwari, the visionary filmmaker behind the upcoming Ramayana movie, has announced a groundbreaking release schedule. The film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan, is set to hit theaters in February/March 2024, with a grand premiere on big screens in the second half of 2025.

Tiwari, a National Award-winning director, is spearheading the entire Ramayana universe and is gearing up to commence shooting in March of the upcoming year. The production boasts the involvement of DNEG, an Oscar-winning visual effects company, which has crafted the immersive world of the Ramayana. Notably, the filmmakers are experimenting with a novel filmmaking technique, leading to extensive rehearsals of the entire shoot.

As per insider information, Yash, who is currently occupied with his film “Toxic,” will join the Ramayana crew in July after completing a significant portion of his ongoing project. All pre-production preparations, including 3D scans and look tests featuring the lead trio—Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash—have been successfully concluded.

Intriguingly, the film is set to be released in two parts, with the first installment focusing on the introduction of Hanuman and further tale development for Ram and Sita. Yash will make a lengthy cameo during this phase. The second installment will delve into the character development of Raavan, and the actor is reportedly eager to explore Nitesh Tiwari’s imaginative realm.

The production team is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the authenticity and purity with which the Ramayana is portrayed on screen. A tech rehearsal is slated to take place in Los Angeles in January 2024, with Ranbir Kapoor spending a few weeks in the US for pre-visualization. The film promises to be a cinematic spectacle, blending technology and storytelling to bring the timeless epic to a contemporary audience.
