Ranveer Singh Confirmed as Dev in Brahmastra Sequel, Shooting to Begin in 2025

Following the release of Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva (2022), speculations regarding the casting of Dev in the sequel directed by Ayan Mukerji have been rife. Various rumors suggested names like Hrithik Roshan and Kannada actor Yash, but none were officially confirmed. However, a recent report from News18 asserts that Ranveer Singh has given his official nod to portray the much-anticipated character in the upcoming movie.

According to sources, “Ranveer Singh has been finalized to play the role of Dev. He has signed the dotted line. The scripting for the second part is still in progress, and the film is expected to roll in 2025. Currently, Ayan is busy with War 2, and Ranveer will also begin shooting for Baiju Bawra this year. So, when Brahmastra 2 will go on floors is still unclear.”

The source added further details, stating, “If all goes well, Ranveer will kick-start Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra in mid-2024. While it was initially decided that the shoot of Brahmastra 2 would begin in early 2025, there are now reports that Don 3 will also commence around the same time. In all likelihood, Ranveer will shoot for Don 3 first and then move on to Brahmastra 2.”

In an interesting development, Bollywood off-screen couples Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone are set to collaborate on-screen for the first time. In Brahmastra, Deepika Padukone takes on the role of Amrita, the mother of Ranbir Kapoor’s character.
