Babil Khan Finds Healing and Belonging on Netflix’s “The Railway Men” Set Amidst Personal Loss

In the wake of his father Irrfan Khan’s passing, Babil Khan embarks on the journey of filming “The Railway Men” on Netflix, crediting co-star Kay Kay Menon for creating a supportive environment. Revealing the commencement of production about seven to eight months after his father’s demise, Babil expresses the solace he discovered while working on the series, following the acclaimed actor’s struggle with a rare form of cancer in April 2020.

At a recent press conference during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Babil, who made his Netflix debut in “Qala” and featured in “Friday Night Plan,” shares the profound impact of working alongside Kay Kay Menon. “When I was working with Kay Kay sir on this series, I was going through a huge loss. I had lost my best friend and father in one day,” he discloses. “When I would arrive on the set, that was the only time I felt like I belonged anywhere. When I was working with Kay Kay sir, that was the only time in that period of my life when I felt like I belonged. I think, to make a human being believe that they belong is the greatest gift you can give to them.”
