We open with Sergeant Park giving a haunting interview about her son, Leon, who was infected in the hospital basement. Unable to kill him, she locks him inside. The WLF decides to keep the hospital operational but seal off the basement, prioritizing survival over closure.

Meanwhile, it’s Day Two in Seattle. Dina monitors radio chatter, scribbling notes and trying to triangulate WLF movements. Ellie, ever the wildcard, jokes around and starts a generator in the concert hall, even playing a few guitar notes because what’s a little noise in a world full of monsters?

Dina returns with a plan that involves sneaking through a massive, infected-filled building. On the way, they discover a pile of corpses and the chilling phrase “Feel her love,” a clear sign of the Scars. Ellie questions whether Dina, pregnant and in danger, should continue. Dina pushes forward, reminding Ellie why they’re here.

Inside the building, chaos erupts. Just as things spiral, Jesse appears out of nowhere and saves them. Turns out, he tracked them using a map they carelessly left behind at the theatre. They’re forced to flee again when WLF soldiers close in, running into a park where the soldiers hesitate. Scars are nearby.

A soldier is sacrificed by the cultists, and Dina gets hit by an arrow. Ellie distracts the attackers so Jesse can get her out. She sneaks into the hospital, confronts Nora, and demands Abby’s location. Nora escapes, but Ellie follows, eventually trapping her in the infected-filled B2 basement. After a brutal interrogation, we cut to a flashback of Joel visiting Ellie, ending the episode on a jarring note.

This episode tries to juggle tension, trauma, and character growth, but it doesn’t always land. The pacing is breakneck, rushing through crucial scenes that deserved more emotional weight. Ellie’s mood swings from joking to violent feel inconsistent, and that undercuts the impact of her transformation.

Dina continues to be the emotional anchor, while Jesse brings welcome relief. Still, it’s hard to ignore how uneven Ellie’s arc feels. The final moments with Nora should’ve been devastating. Instead, they feel like a plot checkpoint.

The potential is still there, but the show needs to slow down, breathe, and trust its characters.
