George Clooney Confirms “Ocean’s 14” Is Officially Happening — With Roberts, Pitt, Damon & Cheadle Set to Return
After years of speculation, Clooney reveals Warner Bros. has approved the budget for the long-awaited sequel, with filming expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026.

George Clooney has finally confirmed that Ocean’s 14 is moving forward — and fans can expect the dream team of Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle to reunite on screen. In a recent interview, Clooney revealed that Warner Bros. has given the green light to the project’s budget, and the only thing left is syncing everyone’s schedules. “We just got the budget approved… it’s just scheduling now. We’ll probably start in about nine or ten months,” he said.
The upcoming film is expected to be directed by The Fall Guy and Bullet Train filmmaker David Leitch, who joined the project earlier this year. Clooney, who’s also co-writing the script with his long-time producing partner Grant Heslov, previously described the screenplay as “really good” and even hinted that it has a tone similar to the 1979 comedy Going in Style — suggesting that the new Ocean’s movie may explore an older, more seasoned version of the iconic crew.
When asked about reuniting with his former co-stars, Clooney was all smiles. “Yeah, Brad, Matt, Don, and Julia — I had dinner with Julia just last night. They’re all still really dear friends, so the chance to work together again would be fun,” he shared.

The Ocean’s franchise began in 2001 with Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven, a stylish, critically acclaimed blockbuster that earned over $450 million worldwide. Two sequels followed — Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) — both featuring the same ensemble cast. The franchise later expanded with 2018’s Ocean’s 8, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Rihanna, which grossed nearly $300 million globally.
While Clooney has been tight-lipped about the plot of Ocean’s 14, insiders suggest it will feature a more reflective, humor-driven storyline centered around its veteran thieves. He even joked that one character’s “funny death” might play into the script — an idea that reportedly amused Brad Pitt.
It’s worth noting that this sequel is completely separate from the Ocean’s prequel currently in development, which stars Barbie duo Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and is set in 1960s Europe.
With its original stars back, a solid director in place, and Clooney steering the creative vision, Ocean’s 14 looks set to mark a stylish return for one of Hollywood’s most beloved heist franchises — proving that age and experience might just be the ultimate con.
