Dhvani Bhanushali’s Debut: A Promising Start, A Fading Finish

Kaha Shuru Kaha Khatam Offers Laughter and Heart, But Struggles to Maintain Momentum

Indian pop star Dhvani Bhanushali’s acting debut in “Kaha Shuru Kaha Khatam” promises a fresh take on the romantic comedy genre. The film’s opening sequence, featuring a thrilling chase between Meera and Krish, sets the stage for a light-hearted and entertaining journey. The comedic elements, coupled with the hilarious antics of Meera’s brothers, Gautam and Gambhir, keep the audience engaged.

Director Saurabh Dasgupta’s debut showcases his ability to capture the playful spirit of the film’s early stages. However, the momentum begins to wane after the intermission, when Krish’s family from Barsana is introduced. The climax lacks the emotional impact and energy required to deliver a satisfying conclusion, despite the warmth and charm of his parents.

The screenplay, penned by Laxman Utekar and Rishi Virmani, tackles important themes of gender equality and the suppression of women’s voices. Dhvani Bhanushali’s strong performance breathes life into the film, although her character could have been more complex to fully explore the gender-related issues. Aashim Gulati delivers a convincing portrayal of Krish, but the romantic chemistry between him and Bhanushali feels lacking. The supporting cast, including Rajesh Sharma, Sonali Sachdev, Rakesh Bedi, and Supriya Pilgaonkar, provide commendable performances. Vikram Kochhar and Himanshu Kohli, as Meera’s siblings, add a touch of humor with their lighthearted banter.

The film’s music is generally underwhelming, with the exception of the classic songs “Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye” and “Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si” used in the credits and background. While these nostalgic tunes add a sentimental touch, they fail to elevate the film’s emotional journey.

Overall, “Kaha Shuru Kaha Khatam” is a promising debut for Dhvani Bhanushali, offering a fun and entertaining watch. However, the film’s pacing and climax could have been stronger to leave a lasting impression.
