Episode 2 kicks off with Agatha preparing for the day while Billy, Wanda’s son, insists on going to Witches Road. This mystical path is said to grant the deepest desires of those who reach its end. Despite her doubts about Billy’s safety, he’s determined to help Agatha break free from her spell.

As they journey, Agatha explains the Covenstead rule, where witches in proximity can create powerful sparks. Their first stop is to see a psychic, where Agatha adopts a Southern accent. The reading reveals that Agatha must recruit Lilia, a Divination Witch, to regain her agency. After some convincing, Lilia reluctantly agrees to join them.

Next, they seek out Jennifer, a potions expert. Agatha aims to lift her binding spell, allowing Jennifer to use her magic again. The stakes are high, as Jennifer faces potential prison time for her troubles. However, they also need one more member: a Green Witch for Earth magic.

The episode culminates in a cringy song as the group gathers in Agatha’s basement, preparing for their adventure. Just as the Coven appears, a trapdoor to the Road materializes, and they dive in.

The second episode struggles to find its footing. The tonal shifts between silly humor and light drama feel jarring, making the narrative feel disjointed. Instead of a cohesive story, we get a band of witches aimlessly seeking power, which diminishes any potential stakes.

The “mystery” surrounding Billy is disappointing. If you’re a Marvel fan who has followed the press material, there’s little intrigue left. This lack of suspense undercuts the episode’s tension.

Character development is sorely lacking. With little to engage us, it’s hard to care about the motivations of these witches. Overall, while there’s potential for growth, this installment feels slow and uninspired, failing to capitalize on the rich world established in WandaVision. It leaves us hoping for a more focused direction in future episodes.
