PLOT
Vikram, an honest officer with the Lucknow police, is on a duty to find and remove gangster Vedha. However, when Vedha surrenders himself to the police and starts describing stories to Vikram, it modifies his understanding of good and evil.
REVIEW
SSP Vikram(Saif Ali Khan) is an honest officer, who has a black-and-white feeling of good and evil. Vedha Betaal (Hrithik Roshan) is a dreaded criminal from Kanpur who recognizes the nuance in between. Vikram’s best friend SSP Abbas (Satyadeep Mishra ) leads an encounter unit in the STF, which is formed to abolish Vedha.
As the unit designs another encounter, Vedha arrives the police station and freely surrenders.
When Vikram interrogates Vedha, he offers to tell a story to him. The first act connects about Vedha coming to be a dreaded gangster, who advises his younger brother Shatak, who is a mathematical genius, to stay away from crime, but Shatak is forced by a rival gangster, Babloo (Sharib Hashmi) to carry drugs.
When Shatak and his friend Chanda are arrested by the police, Shatak confesses and Babloo is caught. Babloo harms Shatak, leaving a permanent scar on his hand.
Vedha’s lawyer, who turns out to be Vikram’s wife Priya (Radhika Apte), intervenes and bails signifies the second act narrates with Shatak now grown-up, giving launders Veda’s income by investing it in shares. Vedha’s boss Parshuram Pandey invests ₹1 crore in this enterprise.
A gang war was incited to which Vikram replies that he should help Shatak to which Vedha agrees. Realizing Shatak’s honesty causes Vikram to fall momentarily.
Vikram begins his investigation with Abbas’s informant. Vikram takes a time to recognize when he locates the leader of the Mumbai Gang. He apprehends and fights him only for the gang leader o almost kill Vikram before getting shot and killed by his unit member. After the fight, Vikram arrives and meets Vedha.
On Babloo’s confession, Vedha tells that Abbas was paid off by Babloo to kill his men, Vedha kills Babloo leaving Vikram frustrated.
As the unit prepares to kill Vikram, Vedha reappears and protects him. A gunfight ensues, and Vikram damages all his colleagues with Vedha’s support but kills the IG (Sudhanva Deshpande).
The film deserves 4 stars out of 5. It is a must-watch movie for people who appreciate good cinema. Everything is just perfect.
The movie is directed by Pushkar–Gayathri and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Neeraj Pandey, and Shital Bhatia. It will stream on Jio Cinema.
