REVIEW

Arif Khan’s debut as a director, a remake of the same-titled 2016 Kannada film, expertly grabs you when a disaster occurs on the flyover due to traffic infractions. Even when the narrative shifts into flashbacks, the screenplay by writers Parvez Sheikh and Radhika Anand and director Arif Khan’s crisp directing ensure that the plot moves along quickly for the most part.

The upsetting soundtrack and events, such as how the first murder occurred, keep you on the edge of your seat. However, some climactic twists and major revelations can be predicted in advance. Most of the movie is shot in the dark with a backdrop of steady, heavy rain, but the extra effect makes it more challenging for spectators to understand what’s happening.

The movie’s dialogues are standard. But since the screenplay moves quickly and there is no dull movement in the film, the sharp editing by Rohit Ajit Makhwana deserves special mention here. The character is brought to life by Alaya F from a disobedient and independent young woman to detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Alaya is fantastic as Radhika.

As an intelligent and sympathetic police officer, Priyanshu Painyuli performs admirably. Manurishi Chadha is very impressive. The character of H.S.P Saxena, played by Rajesh Sharma, has no purpose in the story and is entirely wasted. Even Aashim Gulati, Radhika’s lover and coworker, plays a minor part.

Rating: 3/5

Overall, as a timely reminder to always obey the law for your safety and the safety of others, this mystery thriller addressing the consequences of traffic offenses adds a topical and pertinent element to the plot. All these conditions contribute to a rating of three stars out of five.

Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor produce the movie. Its director is Arif Khan. Alaya F, Priyanshu Painyuli, Aashim Gulati, Manu Rishi, and Rajesh Sharma are all featured in prominent parts. It was made available on the ZEE5 OTT platform on April 28, 2023.
