Plot
Against the wishes of her parents, Sukhee marries her high school boyfriend Guru, and relocates from Delhi to Anandkot. Sukhee is a 38-year-old Punjabi housewife who has become tired of her routine everyday life. At a school reunion 20 years later, she has the chance to reconnect with her pals and relive the good old times.
While traveling to Delhi for her high school reunion, Sukhee experiences a transformational moment. She navigates a sequence of situations that take her back to her 17-year-old self in just seven days. As a result, she comes out of this experience reignited, reenergized, and goes through one of her life’s most difficult transformations. Reclaiming her identity as a woman means moving beyond just being a wife and mother.

One may say that Sukhee, written by Sonal Joshi, Radhika Anand, Paulomi Datta, and Rupinder Inderjit, is the tale of every lady from the middle class. Sukhee’s plot deviates from the usual Bollywood tales by choosing to tell a compelling and provocative tale instead. The film explores the various roles that women play throughout their lives at the same time. Additionally, it places a strong focus on the negative effects of a woman choosing to briefly break from her regimen. Additionally, it searches for the details of human interactions.
The friendship between the four friends, which is realistically presented and helps the audience connect with the characters, is one of the movie’s strong points. Sukhee’s production design, wardrobe, and cinematography have received mixed reviews. Some have been praised for their contributions to the overall vision of the movie, while others have drawn criticism for being unoriginal and lacking in creativity.
After an extended absence, Shilpa Shetty triumphantly returns to the big screen, demonstrating her extraordinary ability as an actress. Kusha Kapila, in contrast, deftly integrates her online presence with her character in a way that comes naturally to her. Amit Sadh also gives a charming performance in this movie. Director Sonal Joshi demonstrates that she is incredibly intelligent. The length of the movie, though, could pose some issues. However, a simple and enjoyable movie like Sukhee is unquestionably a welcome change of pace in today’s world.

Through a blend of humor, Sukhee neatly handles issues of marriage, children, and cultural constraints on Indian women. The movie takes on how society views housewives, as well as unpaid labor and unrealized potential. A satisfying feature of the story is seeing how female friendships develop and flourish over time. People who have experienced similar emotional journeys in their own lives may find the film’s finale to be very meaningful. A 3 out of 5 star rating is suitable for the film.
