Plot

The main character, Sathish and his buddies escape the police by hiding a bag of cash and valuables in a haunted home. A ghost forces him to participate in a survival game in order for him to depart with the bag. Will Sathish and his pals succeed in defeating the spirits and escaping them? By viewing the movie, you’ll learn the answer.

The film exposes us to a risky game called Win or Run in the first scene, where losers are mercilessly executed if they don’t advance. The family behind this fatal incident, however, is murdered by the locals, leaving their ghosts to haunt a historic French palace.

Review

Because of its strong narrative and precise storytelling, DD Returns stays loyal to the genre. The fun-invoking passages in DD Returns are structured nicely with just the perfect amount of crazy, setting it apart from other misguided attempts in this genre.
Cleverly avoiding the “cringe,” common in most horror comedies, the movie succeeds.

Although the first 20 minutes introduce several people and leave us wondering if this will be simply another disorganized attempt, director Prem Anand manages to convert the movie into a fun-filled experience, with everyone ensuring that the humour lasts until the finish.

After a flawless setup in the first half, the second half picks up steam as all key players enter the fray. With four levels and a unique task for each round, Win or Run offers plenty of room for funny jokes. The creators also use popular allusions like Squid Game and YouTube videos.

Santhanam, who leads an ensemble cast, is in fine form with his hilarious one-liners. He occasionally succeeds with little effort in quiet heroic moments. Along with the other cast members, Surbhi, Redin Kingsley, Pradeep Rawat, Munishkanth, and Mottai Rajendran, all performed flawlessly in their roles. As the movie continues, Masoom Shankar’s role gets increasingly important, and she does a respectable job.
