On September 8, 2025, actress Urmila Matondkar took fans on a nostalgic journey as she celebrated the 30th anniversary of Rangeela. To mark the milestone, she shared a video of herself joyfully dancing to the film’s iconic title track “Rangeela Re,” accompanied by a deeply emotional note reflecting on the movie’s legacy and her own cinematic journey.
In her tribute, Urmila described Rangeela as “never just a film… it was, and still is, a feeling,” capturing emotions of joy, ambition, love, struggle, triumph, and above all, a grand celebration of life. She said every scene still brings her a “childlike smile” and praised A.R. Rahman’s groundbreaking soundtrack for embodying the Navrasa—the nine emotions of Indian art: love, laughter, sorrow, anger, courage, fear, disgust, wonder, and peace.
Calling herself “an innocent girl who walked onto the silver screen,” Urmila expressed deep gratitude to audiences for embracing her portrayal of Mili, a role that defined her career. “Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives, for embracing me with so much love, and for putting me in a place that only a few can even dare to dream of,” she wrote.
