Tom Holland Reacts to James Bond Rumors as Amazon’s 007 Reboot Gains Momentum

With Denis Villeneuve confirmed as director and a new Bond film in development, Tom Holland finally breaks silence on speculation linking him to the iconic role.

As James Bond fans eagerly await news on who will succeed Daniel Craig, Spider-Man star Tom Holland has finally addressed the swirling rumors that he might be donning the iconic tuxedo next. But true to 007 fashion, he’s keeping things mysterious.

In a recent appearance on celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s YouTube channel, Holland was asked about growing speculation around his potential casting in the upcoming Bond reboot directed by Denis Villeneuve. His response? Classic Bond vagueness.

“Listen, there’s speculation at the minute. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now,” Holland said coyly, adding, “We’ll get there one day.”

Holland, who recently teased his return to the Spider-Man universe with Brand New Day, acknowledged the honor of even being considered for the role. “Every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry,” he reflected. “I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I’ve had.”

The Bond franchise is undergoing a major creative overhaul. In June 2025, Amazon MGM Studios officially announced Dune director Denis Villeneuve as the man behind the next Bond film. Earlier this week, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight was brought on board to write the screenplay. The movie will be executive produced by Tanya Lapointe, with veteran producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson continuing their long-standing involvement.

Adding to the powerhouse lineup, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal and Harry Potter producer David Heyman have also joined the team. At this year’s CinemaCon, Amazon MGM’s Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll revealed that Pascal and Heyman are already in London, actively developing the next chapter of the 007 saga.

“We are committed to honoring the legacy of this iconic character, while bringing a fresh, exhilarating new chapter to audiences around the world,” Valenti said. “Amy and David are both in London getting started… we know it’ll be an incredible partnership.”

As the Bond universe gears up for its next era, Holland’s cryptic remarks only add more fuel to the fan frenzy. Whether he gets his license to kill or not, one thing’s certain: the Bond legacy is in very capable hands.
