Shreyas Talpade on the Boycott Bollywood Trend

The present “boycott Bollywood fad” is a hot topic. Many celebrities have criticised the boycott trend, including Swara Bhasker, Arjun Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, and Alia Bhatt. In a recent interview, Alia even suggested that anyone who don’t like her might choose not to see her movie.

Actor Shreyas Talpade, however, has a different perspective on the ongoing debate. The versatile actor obliquely attacked the celebrity views on the “boycott Bollywood trend” in response to all the hate being expressed on social media while attending a talk show during Ganeshotsav. When asked what he wants from Lord Ganesha, he said that he wants Lord Ganesha to provide those working in the industry knowledge because their claims don’t seem credible and nearly every Bollywood film coming out these days is associated with controversy. Asking people not to see their movies if they don’t like particular celebrities, in Shreyas’ opinion, will only enrage them further.
