Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn Set to Reignite Laughter with ‘Golmaal 5’ After ‘Singham Again’ Success

Following the action-packed ‘Singham Again,’ the duo pivots back to comedy with the next chapter in the iconic ‘Golmaal’ series.

Director Rohit Shetty and Bollywood star Ajay Devgn are gearing up to bring fans the highly anticipated fifth installment of the Golmaal series. Although the cast lineup is still under wraps, Shetty confirmed in an interview with Pinkvilla that Golmaal 5 will be his next major project. Having focused heavily on action films in recent years, Shetty shared that he is excited to dive back into comedy. “I think before any cop film, Golmaal will be the next,” he said.

Ajay Devgn, who recently starred in Shetty’s Singham Again, discussed the challenge of switching from action to comedy. “I don’t have any problem shifting between genres,” he remarked, explaining that he fully immerses himself in his character only between ‘action’ and ‘cut.’ “If I was always in my character, I would go crazy.”

The Golmaal franchise, which began in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, saw Devgn as the beloved character Gopal alongside Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sharman Joshi. As the series progressed, stars like Kareena Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade joined the ensemble, expanding its comedic appeal. With Golmaal 5, Shetty and Devgn aim to capture the same magic that has made Golmaal one of Bollywood’s most enduring comedy franchises.
