Director Vamsee Recounts Ravi Teja’s On-Set Accident During the Filming of Tiger Nageswara Rao

In conversation with Pinkvilla, Vamsee, the director of Tiger Nageswara Rao, recalled a profoundly frightening incident that transpired on set while Ravi Teja was filming a pivotal action sequence. He commended the Telugu superstar for his unwavering commitment and determination as he recounted the events.

“It was an incredibly intense fight sequence. We had constructed a set that towered over 60 feet above ground level. On the first day, Ravi Teja arrived, and we were all set to capture the shot, which you’ll see as the opening scene in the teaser. He jumped off the bridge, and there was a ‘Jimmy Jib’ with the camera tracking him – it needed to pass him by. Stuntmen were supposed to support him, but somehow, they lost control of the rope, causing him to plummet and collide directly with the camera lens,” Vamsee revealed.

“Imagine this: the hero’s first shot, a massive action sequence. I rushed over to him, and we helped him down. He was standing there, saying, ‘Nothing happened.’ Suddenly, blood started flowing. What had occurred was that the iron knob of the Jimmy Jib struck him just below the right knee, penetrating three inches inside,” the director further disclosed.
