Namit Malhotra’s ambitious adaptation of the Ramayana, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, is poised to set new standards in Indian cinema. This eagerly awaited project brings India’s most beloved epic to life on an unprecedented scale, blending cutting-edge technology with traditional storytelling.
A pioneering figure in visual effects, Malhotra is no stranger to global audiences; as the CEO of Prime Focus Studios, he has contributed to Hollywood masterpieces like Dune and Inception, as well as recent projects like The Garfield Movie and the announcement of Angry Birds 3. With Ramayana, he aims to combine his Hollywood expertise and love for Indian culture to craft a visually stunning retelling of this ancient saga.
Unveiling the project’s poster on social media, Malhotra expressed his passion, writing, “More than a decade ago, I set out to bring this epic, which has resonated with millions for over 5000 years, to the big screen. Today, watching it take shape is a dream come true. Our teams are dedicated to creating the most authentic, sacred, and visually breathtaking adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture—our Ramayana—for audiences worldwide.” He also confirmed release dates, with Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 for Diwali 2027.
