Raj Kundra’s Life Behind Bars Takes Center Stage in Upcoming Film “UT69”

In an upcoming cinematic release set for November 3, Raj Kundra, the well-known businessman and husband of Shilpa Shetty, is poised to star in the movie “UT69.” The movie’s trailer was unveiled on Wednesday, offering a glimpse into a narrative based on Raj’s own life. The trailer kick-starts with the headline-making news of Raj’s arrest in 2021, stemming from allegations related to explicit content. The visuals depict his time at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail, where he struggled to adjust to an unfamiliar, harsh environment, known previously only as Shilpa Shetty’s spouse and a former “Bigg Boss” participant. This marks Raj’s debut as an actor, and his journey through the incarceration experience includes a tense moment reminiscent of a stampede.

Raj’s legal woes began in July 2021 when he was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the production of explicit materials. By September of the same year, he was granted bail, but he faced charges under various sections of the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and the Indian Penal Code.

The movie “UT69” takes a satirical approach to delve into the real-life incidents that transpired during Raj Kundra’s days at Arthur Road Jail. According to the filmmakers, this period was the most challenging in Raj’s life. The movie, rooted in true events, paints a vivid picture of this turbulent chapter in his life.

Earlier this month, Raj collaborated with comedian Munawar Faruqui and filmmaker Farah Khan to create a humorous video, marking the release date of “UT69.” The film is grounded in real events, offering an intriguing glimpse into Raj’s extraordinary journey.
