Raj Kundra Reveals “Separation” Announcement was Not What It Seemed

In a surprising twist, businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, has clarified his recent “separation” announcement, which initially left the internet baffled. Rather than a marital split, Kundra’s message held a different meaning.

Taking to his X account (formerly Twitter), Kundra posted, “We have separated and kindly request you to give us time during this difficult period,” causing a wave of speculation and confusion among online users. Some even suspected it to be a clever marketing tactic.

Kundra further shared the same post on his Instagram Stories, where inquisitive followers flooded the comments section with questions. “Separate means? Divorce?” queried one user, while another expressed their shock at the news. Some even went so far as to call it a “publicity stunt,” with one person asking, “Is it a movie gimmick?”

Subsequently, Kundra clarified the enigmatic announcement in a follow-up post. He revealed that he was metaphorically “separating” from the masks he had been wearing for the past few months due to the ongoing pandemic. His post read, “Farewell Masks… it’s time to separate now! Thank you for keeping me protected over the last two years. Onto the next phase of my journey.”

This revelation comes shortly after Kundra unveiled the teaser for his debut film, “UT69,” where he will play the lead role, portraying the story of his own incarceration.

In July 2021, Raj Kundra made headlines when he was apprehended and taken to Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in connection with an alleged pornography case, sparking a significant public debate. After spending approximately two months in custody and being granted bail by a metropolitan magistrate, he was released from jail in September of the same year. Kundra faced charges under the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
